Recently, I had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with an amazing team on an editorial-style photoshoot in downtown Atlanta. This project brought together the talents of Amina, a striking model with a captivating presence; Charmia of Mauve, a luxury stylist with an impeccable eye for vintage fashion; and AJ, a skilled Atlanta-based makeup artist who brought each look to life with precision and artistry.
Our first setup took place in a downtown parking garage, offering a breathtaking panoramic view of the city's skyline. With towering skyscrapers as our backdrop, Amina stunned in a vintage Alaïa dress paired with statement jewelry, exuding timeless elegance with a modern edge. The urban setting juxtaposed against the refined vintage aesthetic created a striking visual contrast—exactly the editorial feel we were aiming for.
For the second look, we transitioned to the historic Fairlie-Poplar district, an area that embodies the heart of Atlanta’s urban energy. Amina donned a vintage runway Dior denim dress, effortlessly blending high fashion with street-style grit. The shift in location added a new layer to our visual storytelling, enhancing the New York-inspired yet distinctly Atlanta vibe we wanted to capture.
Beyond the images, this collaboration was an invaluable learning experience for me. Working with a larger team on set allowed me to refine my ability to coordinate with different creatives, ensuring that styling, makeup, and photography aligned seamlessly. It reinforced the importance of communication, adaptability, and vision in executing a successful shoot.
I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such talented individuals. This shoot was not only a creative milestone but also a reminder of how much inspiration can be found right in our own city.
